CHARACTER
Name: Madotsuki
Canon: Yume Nikki
Timeline: During the game (So shes still having her dreams, but she hasn't jumped off the balcony. Theres no plot, so theres only before and after she jumps off the balcony.)
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A
Personality: Madotsuki is a very awkward and shy girl. She tends to avoid large crowds and keeps to herself.
Some people call Madotsuki a shut-in. She prefers the term, antisocial. Mainly due to her fear of how people look at her.
Madotsuki is not a people-person. She will make friends, but she tends to ignore the fact that people do exist. She spends most of her time in her apartment, but when she is outside (for very short periods of time) shes usually only out there with friends.
She has a few friends, who try to spend time with her, and get her to come outside. Usually she declines the offer, and says shes busy when they ask her to come outside of her apartment. But they're always welcome to come to her house. Madotsuki can't really recall how she made her friends, seeing as how she never really talks to anyone.
Madotsuki normally appears tired. She has large dark circles around her eyes, and yawns a lot. Her posture is awful and her hair is always messy. She doesn't talk about it unless its brought up by a close friend, who knows her well. The lack of sleep is due to her nightmares, in which she is in her apartment, but when she leaves, she is brought to a room full of doors. When she enters a door, she will be lead to a certain unusual world. All the worlds are different, for each door she chooses, but they are all connected and can all the reached from one another. Some worlds have unusual landscapes, and creatures that dwell in them. For example, a hand staircase that sometimes, when she enters the room of doors, will appear instead of the room. The creatures in each world wont hurt her, but a lot of them will watch her, or follow her on sight. She can hurt them, with a kitchen knife that she found in her dreams.
Each night, her dream is the same. And each night, she always has the same items she had in the last dream. Strangely enough, Madotsuki is capable of waking herself up, just by simply pinching her cheek in the dreams.
While the dreams are harmless, they do effect Madotsuki's heath. The dreams themselves, reflect Madotsuki's constant terror of everyone judging her, and looking at her, which are represented in the many eyes that can be seen anywhere, and her memories of rape, which are represented in the hand staircase, or the arms that reach out of the floor in one world, and signify unwanted touching. Madotsuki is very uncomfortable with physical contact, except with close friends that she is very comfortable around, due to her rape scenario. She will not under any circumstances talk about it.
After realizing that her dreams have been reflecting her real life issues, shes attempted to stop sleeping, to avoid being reminded of what happened and facing it. Hence the large dark circles and always seeming tired.
When it comes to relationship emotions, Madotsuki simply refuses to acknowledge them. She's afraid of affection, and even when they are made clear, will brush them off or decline as politely as she can pull. If she has feelings for someone else, she simply pushes them to the back of her mind and acts like they don't exist.
Violence isn't beyond her, but its not her go-to action. She figures by avoiding people, she can avoid drama.
First Person: [ Here she stands. In the back of a large crowd, with her head down, and her eyes closed. She's trying to think happy thoughts. Memories of her family, her small group of friends. Anything to make her slightly more comfortable in the new, largely inhabited setting. But its to no avail. The only thing she sees when she closes her eyes is.. To uncomfortable to handle right now. Shes not ready to handle the hand staircase, or the eyes following her everywhere, and she's not ready to deal with real life. She doesn't really have a choice, though. So she slowly opens her eyes and takes in her surroundings. She's taking the opportunity to map out the best place to hide, but really nothing comes up with a sigh, she slowly comes off the wall and out into the crowd.
Madotsuki isn't really sure where she's going. All she knows is that she needs to be alone, and soon. She's hurrying along so quickly, that for a short while, she forgets about some of her surroundings and bumps into a few people. She gasps, and mutters a hasty apology, moving a little quicker.
Eventually, she comes across a small empty neighborhood, where she finds a perfect bench to sit on. With a yawn , one of her hands reach up to rub her eyes, as she sinks into her seat slightly. Sitting up quickly, she remembers her promise to stay awake. Honestly, she's not comfortable falling asleep in an unknown city on a bench in an empty neighborhood. So here she sits, all alone. Watching the sun go down. ]
Third Person: Madotsuki sat up on the floor of the train, rubbing her eyes and stretching. Damn it. She'd fallen asleep again, though she said she wouldn't. She looked around the train, confused. This wasn't her apartment. She stood up, with the aid of the seat next to her and went to the front door of the train. Locked. Peering through the window, she could only faintly make out another door and window in front of her car. She swore she could see another face.
She went around the car, investigating everything before sitting down and deciding that there was nothing more to see. This was weird, and defiantly not one of her dreams. Madotsuki looked over to her left, to see a golden pocketwatch on the seat across from her. She wandered over and picked it up, wondering how she hadn't seen it before. She was sure she had carefully looked around the whole car. She decided, the pocket watch hadn't been there before, and opens it carelessly. She looks down at it, expressionless. She wasn't sure what she was expecting. The whispers sound pleading and confused. She sighs and closes it. Typical.
The ride to the city was long, boring and tiresome. She promised herself she wouldn't sleep on the ride there, after figuring out exactly where she was headed. The city was large and interesting, and somehow looked familiar. As she drew nearer to it, she took back the familiar comment and started at it in awe. It was amazing and.. Full of people. People she didn't know. People she would need to interact with in order to figure anything out. Crap.
Madotsuki moved to the back of the car, pulling her legs up to her chest, and glancing out the window. Did she have to go outside? There were people there. She really didn't want to talk to people. The doors opened themselves slowly and Madotsuki found herself walking over to them, and out of the train. As soon as she was on the pavement, she froze. People where everywhere. Human interaction was necessary.
Let her torture begin.
